I sorta want to start a new game, and this one seems the best fit for me of the 3 standard starting ones.
Having took over for veldan in the only ongoing game I have at the moment, the idea of facing him seems fearsome and I am suspicious that others in this league are at a similar level.
I've always been of the opinion that a game set at 2 turns a week means just that. You have no obligation to go faster than that. If it takes you 3,4,5 days to do turn 8 and 9 that's just how long it takes... Maybe the fed didn't like his starting spot. No hurry jm.
another benefit to having only two turns per week would be the potential for more communication of allies and such with people of very different time zones..
Hi there,
I am playing in too many games at this stage and do not have time to
make all my turns. I have to therefore withdraw from some of the games.
This is one of the games I am withdrawing from. Sorry....enjoy the game.
Not a fan of pausing standard games for player drop outs.
But since it's only turn 20'ish, and I'm just now finishing up a game that started in May of last year that had the same problem with drop outs I might sway for a pause.
I'd like to hear what others have to say first. I just don't want this game to turn into alpha-beta system. Only 3 of the original players stayed to the end, and of those three all three are checked out (I'm checked out too). Sure I'm going to win, but wasn't challenged at all during the game and really it was a year long game played against almost nobody. Sure a privateer player showed up for a bunch of turns, but he was more interested in achievement farming than actually putting up a fight for victory. And of course skunkman joined for a bit, but he's more bark than bite (in that game).
Sad thing is... that win is going to put me on top of the leader board for the Colonies....
Hey guys, I have been trying to find a replacement for 2 weeks. I am so very sorry that I have to leave this game, but I cannot keep up. Real-life work situation has changed drastically for me and I am spending the next 3 months basically working everyday. with extended hours. Between this game and the Championship game I am not able to bring my A game to either. I've been balancing two and three games at a time for the past year, but things have changed to a point where I cannot even spend enough time to complete my turns or do any diplomacy. I am very sorry about being yet another player to abandon this game, but things have changed.
It is a shame that the colonials aren't doing their turns, i'm sure that is quite frustrating for you.
Since this game isn't at a stalemate I do not want to tell Joshua to end the game. At this point we are only 5 planets away from starting the countdown which we should have in the next turn or two if all goes well.
With that said, I agree that it was a shame that so many people dropped out of the game, but it has been a pleasure going head to head with you.
