EE Help!

Should a Heavy Phaser Gorbie on the defensive (left side) with more fighters lose to a X-Ray Laser Biocide?

How about a density boost for all the EE ships?

Maybe moral on the EE ship was bad? You should think of sending Darth Vader next time you fight with your Death Stars! I guess, he will have some "moral improving" ideas :)

Beams are irrelevant as they will all be firing at fighters for the most part. Left side give the Gorbie a nice advantage, but nowhere close to a sure kill versus a Biocide. If both have full fighters, it will be about 65-35. Ish. Swap sides and the numbers stay about the same but against the Gorbie. They are very even ships.

Biocide loses about 2-3% more often to a Gorbie, both sides.

I think every EE ships should get the mass bonus. What Imperial ships were not enormous in the storyline? Not randomly either. That little boost might make the EE more viable. More needed, but it would surely help.

@Lord Pollax - And a decent Mine Layer. That Frigate and it's 80 cargo space is quite the mine layer. They can destroy an entire planet, but can't fit more than a few cans of beans on their frigates? You can add 300 cargo to that ship alone and improve the Evil Empire 10 fold.

Obviously if EE (and Borg, Robots, Colonies, Rebels in a similar way) want mass bonuses to coincide with film source material they will also have to take a build limitation

Gorbie is based on a Death Star so will require the resources of hundreds of star systems and take years to build.

So in game terms only one Gorbie when you reach 100 planets and then take 20 turns to build?

To ballance it out every other race gets to build 10 ships at every SB per turn?

Obviously we will also require a fleet combat system so it is also realistic.

Or realise that these ships are not the same size as the source material

just a question, as far as I remember, better tech beam weapons recharge faster and therefor fire more often.
Is this somehow confirmed or experienced?

No. Tech level beams recharge the same. In carrier battles there is no advantage having more than lasers if their are enough fighters.

Borg fighters are so small they’re evading your Turbolasers

@Trashman all beams recharge the same.

That's why Carrier races only need tech 10 hulls.

Beams only shoot down fighters if they fight other carriers. So it does not matter if you have lasers or Heavy Phasers.

@Martinr I'm fine with that so long as fighter are also done proportionally. Right now a single fighter cost more than a D7 cruiser. Torpedo costs are way off too.

And speaking of torpedo costs, I am thinking those minefields spanning light years would cost WAYYYYYYYY more to drop. And take some more time to do. If we are still talking realistic to storylines anyhow. Those Tholians took hours to web a single ship that wasn't moving. Just saying...

From the crystal perspective it FEELS like hours to drain a heavy phaser gorbie that isn't moving ;)

Death stars can one shot biocide only if it is equipped with SUPERLASER.
Of course, the biocide can always fire off a probe, to time travel, to change the history.
