love the new feature
 - only the sound when you are buying ship components sounds like a
'no, that won't work' sound to me... both if it works, and if it is not allowed
it's the same sound - maybe that could be differentiated?
- i have to grin every time i hear the 'build ship' sound
- 'flyout window' sound only works in ff10 with the animation only - if you already
have the transporter screen open and go to change fcode window for example,
you have no confirmation sound.
- most of the background music is very good! ...signs of life... love it..

:)

maybe the the dashboard/star map toggle could be the dashboard ticker ?

I have been enjoying the Birdman music quite e bit.  The Colonies, not as much.

I have had to resort to turning my whole PC on to mute to evade the god awful music. Please can you create an option to put it onto mute for those of us who enjoy our planets turns in peace.

Think there is an option in settings in each game

there is, but the option to turn the sound off doesn't follow you from screen to screen (my experience has been that it only mutes the sound in the dashboard screen, not any of the others).   I too would like an option to mute the sound (or at least turn off all combat sounds).

There is a way to get rid of the sound. This solution gets a bit technical, but bear with me.

There is a control on most computers.  It is occasionally a knob, but often just a software control.  Look for a label like "sound level" or "volume".  You want to turn that knob all the way to the left or lower the meter to the bottom.

If this does not work, you can get really into the nuts and bolts by pulling on that speaker cable until it disconnects.  If you need tech support on either of these procedures, I will gladly help out.

Good luck!

RE: Feedback for the new ingame soundsWrite Reply
and I do occasionally do that... on my home computer (for the battle vids at least).

However, I like to do some of my turns at work, and while I can play, the systems are "browser only"... no volume control, no external speakers, and sealed so I can't pull the internal speaker wire.

Additionally, I am frequently watching a video on my 2nd monitor (via DVD, Hulu, etc), and I don't want to mute THAT volume.  Every other game I play gives me the option to mute the sound or control the volume, and turning the volume off actually does turn the volume off for the game.  I love planets, and the new music is nice, but there are times I want to hear something else while playing.

I couldn't stand the music and sound effects either, and am also usually listening to something else that I don't want to mute.  I used the option menu on the dashboard to turn off the music and it worked just fine.  The only downside was that I had to do it for each game individually.  If it's not working for you, you might want to do a bug report and list your browser.

I'm using Firefox btw.
