Hello,

Just a few suggestions for the interface. They should be not too difficult or time consuming to integrate, but would make for a smoother experience:

1. Next to the "unload ship to planet" button, put a "unload planet to ship" button (=dump all fuel and as many minerals and $ as possible onto the ship).

2. When selecting ships to fix at a starbase, list the amount of damage for each ship. Right now you have to remember which of the ships you wanted to fix to select the right one in the interface.

3. Make Supplies => $$$ interchange automatic in many instances. If I want to load $$$ onto a ship and keep clicking the transfer button even though $$$ has run out - interchange supplies and load as $$$. If I want to build more fighters, but $$$ has run out - interchange supplies and build fighters, etc. This functionality was present in VPA and saves me MANY clicks each turn.

Keep up the good work! I'm transferring over from VPA, having played more than 20 years. It is not seamless, but planets.nu is the future, better to embrace it! :)

1) The issue with 1 is that you also would have to make a priority order. When you have 300 of each mineral, supplies, and colonists and push that button for a MDSF (cargo capacity 200), does it get 200 Dur and nothing else? Does it get 40 of each mineral, supplies, and colonists? And how much MC does it get? I agree that it would be handy, but I think it's a little more complex than initially seems. Unload to planet doesn't have that problem, because plants probably have 5 digit allowances for all resources, if not 6, which is more than any ships will ever bring them, even on high resource games.

2) That's fair. I think about how nice it is to be able to click ships to tow now. I remember in DOS VGAP having to remember the SHIP ID # to set a tow target!

3) Yeah, this one confuses me. If I build a ship from the ship menu on a SB and it needs to sell supplies to do so, even if it needs to sell supplies to afford increasing tech levels, it does so automatically. Yet if I go to the tech increase menu myself and click the button to increase the tech level, it won't do it unless the MC are already in MC, meaning I have to manually exit the menu, sell the supplies for MC, and then come back to the tech up menu and do it then. I have no idea why this works in some cases and doesn't work in the cases that SEEM like it should be easier to do so.

@Renathras With 3, in the tech levels screen, if you click on the supplies symbol in the top right corner, you can exchange supplies on the fly without exiting the menu. Same applies to the structures menu, ship transfer menu etc.

@DARVSTER That is still several unnecessary clicks, imo. And I have to do it every time I load a freighter. It really adds up.

@Clausimu I was just responding to say there was an easier method than completely coming out of the menu.

In fact I prefer having to manually change supplies in the ship/planet transfer screen as quite often I want to just load MC (leaving the supplies for following Merlins) and do not want to load supplies. Having supplies automatically change to MC would be a pain imo when transferring from planet or ships.

@DARVSTER I think you could implement it in a way that would make both of us happy. Load MC until planet is empty (without having to click the exact # of MC to load), but if you keep hitting the transfer button after MC=0 on the planet start converting supplies to MC and load. That's the way it was in VPA and allows for absolute flexibility with a minimum of clicking.
