How can it be that a game that started new and has a schedule of 1 turn/day has a next turn in 52 hours when the game just started (turn2). I would have expected max. 24 hours.

Rash,

We turned early - so its the remainder of this day plus 24 hours. Turn time stays the same so if there is not a full 24 hours before the next turn time - it goes to 24+ hours.

It's possible that the second is purposefully delayed as to not surprise people when the game starts. Sometimes they take a long time to fill and this might just be a buffer.

On the early turns the host runs early often anyways as people can finish their turn quickly.

If the turn runs early, it skips on to the next turn date. E.g. host runs every night at midnight, if everybody marks the turn ready Wednesday at 6pm, the host will run, and the next scheduled host date is set to Thursday midnight. So the run is counted as if Wednesday midnight happened. But if all players mark ready again on Wednesday, host will run, but the next scheduled date will remain Thursday...
