I wish the game would give you an option to mark turn as ready when host run kicks in while I am still making my turn rather than saying host running get out and rejoin when finished and marks you as missing a turn. Obviously it would only give a few seconds to click yes or no and assume no so host run is not halted indefinitely while waiting for the response.
I'd say half of my missed turns happen that way.

Change the game because you're consistently late?

It still accepts all the orders you've put in up to that point- so all you're asking for is to stop looking like you miss a turn?

Not sure there's much value to effort there.

note: you can use the "Holiday mode" for that. I am not sure when exactly it will kick in, but it will mark your turns as ready shortly before the host runs.

@Issen+Adtur right not the best for development time I guess. And yes I just don't want to look like a slacker :) And for future games I will make host run time part of my decision making process as that is only a problem with games where host runs are during my game time.

@Olegboleg I believe this will mark me ready 24 hours before the host, so if everyone else is ready I might not even do any of my turn.

Or play even less games and only slow games will also work.

You can have hit end turn and have been in adding different orders and finish just before the host and it gives you a missed turn as well.

It does this with anyone who edits the turn close to the host time even if they have hit end turn or not (although I do not know the specific time frame).

Most of my missed turns are due to this.

Best to change your game play then ask for a software change.

Missed turns only really count if you do it 3 turns in a row. You don't get a tenacity hit or any other punishment for missing one or two turns by being setting orders at the host time.
