In Nercodonia Sector, we have reached the ship limit...Write Reply
In Nercodonia Sector, we have reached the ship limit several turns ago. But since last turn, total amount of ships is set to 497. In turn 49, many ships have been destroyed and build queue advanced quick but then stoped after having build up to 497 ships. This turn (50), only one ship get destroyed but total ships is still 497. Of course, we have several ships in queue. First, I thought that I have interupped the build process by capturing a planet with a base that could have build a ship during turn 49. But this base has been build that turn so no ship was queued there.
Has someone observed this and can give me a reason why the limit is not reached anymore? As far as I can see, colonize and recyle are before last ship build phase, so those actions cannot have this result.

I would assume that at least three ships are now ghost ships due to the star clusters in that system. ghost ships are ownerless, and therefore do not show up on the total ship count.

Yes, zavulon has been dragging ships from his dead colony neighbor into a star cluster. I imagine this is a good strategy for birds to capture ships.

Thanks, that's it. I have dragged one ship in a star cluster, too, and we received three distress calls so far for ships without crew due to radiation. Thanks a lot, mistery solved. I wasn't aware that those ships a ownerless and therefore will not show up in score anymore.
