Ion storms in sphere fixed?

Hello, i generated a sphere game which is now in the joining phase:

Now i am wondering if the ion storm "bug" in sphere is still existent, which means that ion storms gain immense strength in sphere if not destroyed. I put a star cluster and a nebula in the map and limited ion storms to only 2. But as the cluster and the nebula are quite close together (see map) i am now worrying if there is a (high) chance that there this might still lead to one of those gigantic ion storms that can destroy a game with its unbalancing mega-volt level.

Any expert knowledge around on this issue?

I vaguely remember Joshua saying on the last forum post that he had changed the code slightly to change it so sphere games and ion storms would not do this.

But I could be wrong
