There's a Search function under the Activity tab. It doesn't work very well, but it's something.

Alternately, there's the "site:" search keyword which works in some search engines and browsers.

The forum search only searches the text of the original starting post of a thread. Due to a database hiccup about a year and a half ago, older ones are all not found at all using this method.

I use Google's specific site search feature instead. Type "site:planets.nu" and then whatever you want to search for in the Google search box.

While I'm at it... for searching Documentation only, you use the built-in Google search box at http://help.planets.nu

This feature is also available in Bing (same syntax). There's a similar feature in StartPage, but I've found that it doesn't work as well.

@all: thanks for the answers, both search functions found what I needed.
