When you pass through a minefield, are LY's traveled cumulative or not.

I.E. If I travel through 20 LY of normally mined space while uncloaked:

A. Do I roll one 20% chance.

B. Do I roll 20 1% chances.

B.
Each light year traveled gets a separate 1% chance.

If the answer is "B" then it wouldn't matter if you moved 1 LY P/Turn to travel 80 LY, or 80 LY p/turn to travel 80 LY. Since the equation is the same, just over a greater period of time.

Therefore movement in minefields is not safer one way to the other as in traveling faster or slower. Unless you count the associated risk of multiple mine-hits when traveling greater then warp 8.

Correct, going slower doesn't really lower your risk over time.
