Production Queue question: can you set a starbase to build...Write Reply
Production Queue question: can you set a starbase to build with PQ points, and use Advanced Cloning to clone a foreign ship design at the same time?

More on the point: does Advanced Cloning still make sense in a Production Queue scenario?

No and yes.
While you can still build ships after the limit hits you need adv. cloning to clone ships.
So it'sit's even more valuable than it was.

Re-reading my own question, I see I put it down in an ambiguous way -it looks like I'm trying to build two ships at once. :)

What I did mean is: in a PQ scenario can I build _the foreign ship only_, using Advanced cloning, and my PQ points, anytime even after the 500 ship (soft) limit?

Yes. If you have sufficient PP to clone a foreign ship, and have advanced cloning researched and enabled, you may clone a ship at any time, even after the 500 ship soft limit. I have a full roster of pop ships, firecloud, and assorted bits and pieces being cloned as we speak with 520 ships in the game.

As a side note, you can still have a ship in the queue, and the clone will happen, not the build, but be sure to have enough minerals and MC on the surface or you will have a rather costly build on your hands.

Ahhh yeah it was confusing.
So the answer would be yes. You can clone at any time with adv. cloning.
