I told Joshu about it. For this game I have nothing against using explore map. With the current settings it's without significant effect anyway. You can see much too far.
Hi Guys new Commander games have PlanetScanRange = 400. It should be mentioned on the settings, but we're redesigning the game screen and it hasn't been updated yet.
You are not on a tiny map, you're in your own little bubble.
we could help to validate this change to commander games. I ask myself if I will have to make decisions where the limited sight gets relevant. The limitation is not big so I assume it is not very relevant. I'll see and I'll be happy if you share your opinions.
I often played with explore map in older days. The fun with our settings was that we had a much lower scan range, e.g. 100 LJ for unowned and 10 LJ for owned planets. So you really had to search planets which led to new tactics.
Did everyone start with no ships, 1 planet, 1 starbase?
I'm asking because I started with that configuration, but then on turn two I suddenly had the ship I build, plus an MDSF. I figured I had just forgotten about the MDSF since the first turn is played so fast, but I just checked the time machine and sure enough I didn't have it that turn. I've now been experiencing weird issues with that MDSF like it not making moves or transferring cargo. I'm wondering if there is some kind of bug.
No big deal, it's something I can catch up from. I just want to report it as a bug so Joshua can take a look and keep it from happening to others if it wasn't by design.
I agree. And if you have hyperjumpers you know very quick where you are exactly. But I would say it doesn't hurt to use explore map. It adds a little more interesting information to the first turns.
Neil, thx for the translation. I stopped trying because I didn't find "scaramousses" (spelled shlighty different in your explanation). Also thanks to Kukala.
Bad news: Our spies were wrong. The Death Star wasn't a unique project. The Evil Emipre has started up series production!!!
Good news: Our fleet was just strong enough to destroy the defending Death Stars and the nearby production center. We hope for a significant psychological effect as this planet was the origin of all Evil. More people will dare to join the rebellion.
This was my best senior game experience ... up to now. I hope that Zart has at least a good reason to drop in second place and without a word. Such a behaviour was very rare in the old days of planets.
As the Crystal is still in second place his position is offered on the official replacement board. I could additionally advertise the open slot in the forums. Agreed?
Of course, deadeye! In the past the Rebels have made a research journey in the territory north of you. We haven't found intelligent lifeforms there. So according to interstellar conduct this area is free to colonize. Go there and be happy. Rebels feel comfy in the south ... the relaxed lifestye fits our people.
