What happen after the ship limit ... all builds are queued and builds happen when ships are destroyed by combat, recycle or land/disassemle.
In most games you will find the Production queue - in classic game the Priority Queue. More details could be found here

in a MvM game is the queue not relevant - in most games the ship limit will not be hit. But in games you join after this game, you will need the knowledhe about Queues.
