Battle Simulator Online? Write Reply
Hi All - Is there a website with a ship vs ship battle simulator, or, if not, one for a mac I can download?

Thanks in advance.

In the game you can click the VCR button on the left hand side and then you will see a VCR Simulator button on the upper right hand side.

You don't see it if you just click straigth to the VCR's from the main screen.

bsim is a dos-based simulator (very powerful, able to do multiple-ship simulation, and statistics).

I think bsim 2.2 is available for download at various places on the web.

Yeah, I don't want a recording after the fact. I know about those. I need a simulator I can use BEFORE a battle to test different actions.

Thanks but, so you know... dos does not run on a Mac, unless it has another OS installed.

Yes, there is a battle simulator in the game, just follow the instructions above.

There you can test results before the battle.

My apologies. I never noticed it. Much appreciated.

Perhaps now that they will be charging perhaps they'll upgrade it so we can customize it a bit more with % damage, # of torps & fighters, etc.

I did not see it first either, that's why I was so quick to respond to your message :-)

You can actually change the number of cargo & damage as well, just click on top and change. Not very visual!

Other small things that I did not spot at first are the TARGET number of factories / mines / defense posts to be auto-built in the planet screen. Just like the autotax setting that I didn't understand at first.

Also the small check box on planet & ship screens to remind you if you are ready with them escaped me at first as well...

annunziata,
I use Crossover to play windows/dos games with my Mac. PCC2's Playvcr installs and runs with it just perfect! I don't know if they have a free version of the Crossover software, though.

No offense to the NU team, but the built in VCR simulate is pretty thin, I don't see much value in using it right now.

THIS is what you should be using, you can do everything you want and you'll get fantastic information after your simulations:
