Admiral DraonDejhi was absently sharpening his claws at the command
center when his hillbilly navigator sent out a shout…..
“Well yank
of my tail and call me a human, issssn’t that a sssight for ssaly eyes?
“What is it navigator,” the admiral questioned.
“Well good Lord, we didn’t wantsss ssspeak it to
ya, but out initial contact freighter disssappeared sssoon after it entered the
galaxy. Now out of nowhere, it just popped
up like speckles on a new hatch of eggs.”
The Admiral looked at the navigator sitting in
the chair. This Lizard was a great in the
tough times when it came to ship movements….. but he was unsure if he could take
an entire tour with him talking.

2506 days, 7 hours, 38 minutes ago | | | We of the Lizard Alliance Council listen to all the mine laying and ship stealing threats. We are a peaceful race and as you can see, we concentrate less on developing great war machines to kill others, but rather try to gather food to bring to our hatchlings. As information, we of the tiny fleets are always open to negotiations. I believe in developing NAG pacts and treaties of any type. We love to trade. We have cloakers for sell in the future. Of course we have not built any, but can do so for trade purposes. Some have great cargo holds. Some are powerfull, all can tow. We have Loki's to show the signs of any of those pesky non-peaceful cloakers. We have a ship which cools those hot planets that cannot hold many colonists but could make you lots of money. And of course we offer crews that excel in Hissssssing if you have a crappy ship just sitting around. That's up to 600 MC's per ship. In many turns there may even be money/mines for trade. It's up to you. You do not even need to be my neighbor if you have a HYP ship.
The council awaits your word.

|
2506 days, 7 hours, 27 minutes ago | | | We of the fascist conviction likewise offer many of those advantages. We too have cloakers, all of which can tow. We have ships to blow those pesky non-peaceful cloakers out of the sky, AND ours work against everyone. We cannot cool desert planets, but we have our ways to collect the taxes from the natives there without resorting to the dangers of terraforming. AND that is an action that can by performed by all of our expert crews, AND yes, from any crappy ship just sitting around. AND we are willing to undercut the prices of our competitors.
And we are not related to Kermit.

2499 days, 20 hours, 9 minutes ago | | | Captain Orsini watched as the Raptor taxied to its designated stop in the Deepwater's hanger bay. She watched in mute anger as, one by one, the body bags were carried out onto waiting carts.
"There's something wrong with this part of space." The voice was from her XO, and she could only nod in agreement.
"How many like this is it up to now, Ross?"
"Five. Five worlds swarming with those damned... things, each one with more than the last."
*And each one,* she silently rued, *with minerals we need if we're going to have a prayer of getting a genuine foothold in this corner of the universe.* "Issue extra supplies and guards," Orsini ordered, "and make sure that every one of these damned forts we're having to build has enough of both to hold out against a siege from the worms. I hate it as much as anyone else, but the drilling has to continue if we're going to keep this fleet moving."
*And may the Lords of Kobol have mercy on my soul.* |

2496 days, 15 hours, 12 minutes ago | | | "We've got another one, ma'am."
Captain Orsini turned to look at the Deepwater's sensor officer. There'd been a freighter spotted at long range the previous month, ostensibly identified as belonging to that curious race known as the Fascists. Despite the unfortunate connotations, she'd been considering contacting them about the land worms; rumour had it that the Fascists had ways of dealing with them. "Another Fascist freighter?"
The sensor tech returned her look, worry showing in his eyes. "No ma'am. Mass is similar, at 275 kilotons, but it's warp signature is all wrong. Output reads warp seven, but it's actual speed looks like it'll clear almost a hundred light-years."
Orsini frowned at the news. She knew what it meant; privateers of one stripe or another had been seen in other sectors of space, and they had a love for their hot-warp engines. Given the mass....
"Lieutenant, make a tentative identification as a Meteor-class cutter. Everyone, keep a sharp eye; we've got privateers in our neck of the woods. Long range isn't quite so long for them. And remember," she added, "they can probably cloak." The bridge crew exchanged looks, then returned to their tasks with a new urgency. |

I would like an answer to this question, since you are in charge of intelligence gathering. :"Why, as I am leisurely reclining next to the pool with a beverage of my choosing, can I look up and clearly see a PL21 class probe in orbit?"
"Bad luck, sir?" Captain Browne reported
"So being immune from their infernal dark sensing we allow them to get to the very heart of our empire by HYPing to our Home World. I would indeed say that was bad luck."
"Yes, sir!" Browne agreed enthusiastically
"Sort of like being demoted from Intelligence Chief to Tauntaun muck, don't you think, Private Browne."
"Yes, sir." He agreed with much less enthusiasm. |

Ah, you and the Bots were arguing on the boards at each other all while you were building a campaign to squeeze whoever was between you. I was just unlucky to be that person. I do not blame you or think it is anything personal.
However, at the same time, all one has to do is look at the forums here to confirm that the PIRATES AND BOTS ARE UNTRUSTWORTH AND LIKE TO LIE AND SPREAD MISINFORMATION. NEVER TURST A WORD THEY SAY BECAUSE THEY HAVE PROVEN TO BE LIERS !!! Hey, the proof is in the your own words LOL All one has to do is to look at exactly the words and pictures you guys posted to each other publicly in order to get others to believe your misinformation.
Again, not a big deal. You're a pirate after all. I knew it was a risk to even think about believing anything you said. Live and learn. Don't trust a man who has "Kill" or "wabbit" as a name. nope, no way you can come out as the good guy in this. Don't even try. 2469 days, 4 hours, 27 minutes ago | | | Truth be told, there are NO RULES in interstellar warfare! Do you seriously think that a hostile alien intelligence will abide by the moral code of mankind? Quit whining and go down with guns blazing in glorious defeat. And remember, IT'S JUST A GAME! |
|
|
2469 days, 1 hours, 19 minutes ago | | | It is a game folks. Let's not start saying harsh things about each other, that really takes the fun out of playing.
I have performed some simple intelligence, that I should have done earlier and discovered that EB and KPH are in several games together that are currently running.
This probably confirms DD's theory that they are friends/relatives and are working closely together. Their very similar writing styles indicate that they communicate together frequently.
May I recommend EB and KPH that, like a few other brother or friend combos that you announce that to your game-mates when you play together in future games? I understand your ethics indicate that there are no rules in interstellar warfare, but you can't have it both ways. It is either interstellar war or it is a game. In a game there are rules and respect for your competitors.
If it is interstellar war, then it is our duty as citizens of the cluster to defeat these pirates of the robotic Carribbean. I call on all the other players in this game to help me defeat these non-declared, but clear allies.
Thanks,
Tom |

2468 days, 21 hours, 4 minutes ago | | | Your right, this is a game! A game of intelligence, diplomacy, and strategy! Why would I just come out and announce we are game-mates, that would be stupid! Easter Bunny is is right, this is Interstellar War, and there are No Rules! As for you Tom, You write us Asking whats are side is and too Blow some Stuff up. Why not write us and say I have done some research (Just like anyone in the games can do) and this is what i think! So now you are like please, all lets all gang up on the EB and KillPH!You are as much to blame! ITs all about not showing your hand to early! If anything you should appreciate out intelligence! But here is the difference, you people just complain ! Well to you SiR, You talk a big game! COME AND GET SOME!! We not only talk a big game but we back it up!!! |

2468 days, 20 hours, 41 minutes ago | | | "Can you believe this, Ma'am?" the Comm officer asked, as every eye on Warspite's bridge looked at the speakers. They'd been doing so for hours now, listening not only to reports of boardings and captures but also to what could best be deemed bluster. Representatives of over half the navies known to be active in this cluster were having at each other in a war of words.
Commodore Jessilaurn - the insignia blaze still a new addition to her collar brass since the promotion some months prior - shook her head in disgust. "Two research cruisers and the Valiant have gone to that lunatic and his frakking hot-warp raiders. No more. Comm, open a channel, full-spectrum." With widening eyes, he complied, and the bridge fell to silence as the Commodore spoke.
"All forces within broadcast range, this is Commodore Jessilaurn, commanding the battlestar Warspite. We have been wronged by the Privateers operating in this cluster, and it is our intent to revisit that wrong upon them. We invite you to join with the Fleet in doing so, and our ambassadors look forward to contact from your own to that end.
"To those already engaged against the Privateers, good hunting.
"Warspite Actual, out." |
|
|
2468 days, 20 hours, 26 minutes ago | | | The Captain of the Rebel Command Ship Justice Bringer listened to the broadcast from Rebel Command.Along with congratulations for eliminating the Borg threat in this sector of the cluster were additional orders.
Deal with this Frankenstein threat to the south. This truly scary monstrosity of Piratical Robots.
He turned to his XO and gave him heading and speed. "First star to the south and straight on till morning."
His XO said, "So seems like we're going to go get some, huh Captain?"
"Indeed," the Captain replied, "indeed we are..." |

So now that your intelligence is revealed. Now that we all see how clever you are. Now that you have blamed us for your chosen behavior. And now that you are going to get the rewards that your behavior deserves. Now you think it is outside the bounds of the game to eliminate the threat that you present?
You have proven to be capable players, proven you can out smart and out play us. Please do not complain that we of lesser abilities choose to align against you and come and get more than some of what you got.
I am certain it is going to take all of us to defeat you. Who knows, you are well on your way to winning right now, maybe you can pull out a victory before we can organize ourselves. How sweet would that be for you?
I will come and I will be prepared. Don't run, don't hide and don't complain. Your behavior has brought this upon yourselves.

2468 days, 19 hours, 48 minutes ago | | | -=The Dragondejhi=- tips his mug and laughs with mirth.
Oh you silly wabbit. Of course it is a game. Of course it is in the nature of the game to attack, be destroyed and even work with allies to gang up on others for the sake of victory. This is all as it should be.
Lies, while complaining others are whining is not. Destruction is acceptable. Deceit is a character flaw.
One Bot Automa and Pirate cloaker down. Many more cloakers and a Golem to go. I may be going down, but not easily. And if you take me down before others destroy you, I will know I have given them time to see your true nature and get organized.

2468 days, 19 hours, 38 minutes ago | | | I’ve got to hand it to you all, this is by far the most entertaining game I’ve been in to date! The rambunctious postings have been quite enjoyable. Let’s look at Mr. Graves’ latest post, for example. Tom says he did some research on killph and I that he should have done earlier. A wise and humble admission, worthy of respect. While the scoreboard clearly shows that we joined within 11 minutes of each other, this in itself might not mean much. I did, however, think that all of our over-the-top cat-calling at the beginning was more than enough incentive for you all to look into our ‘history’. Here is where I go off on a tangent: I think this game changed dramatically when it went to ‘Max Allies – 2”. Why? Well, I would say that a LARGE percentage of players enter a game with someone else already lined up as an ally. It’s a social thing, and makes the game more fun. This puts any ‘loner’ player at a serious disadvantage, as available alliances are few and far between. Negotiating with a player whom you don’t know now becomes much more risky, because chances are you are just stepping into a trap. Therein lies the peril of playing with yourself. Anyway, let me continue with my ‘analysis’ of Tom’s post. Posting that we should ‘play nice because it’s a game or don’t play nice because it’s war’ is intriguing. It would seem that you want to portray yourself as the voice of reason and justice, and at the same time you use ‘Survivor’ tactics to attempt to incite a mob killing of strong competitors. To this, I say “WELL DONE. Masterful and elegant! Play on!” The effectiveness of this call to arms already appears evident, as the Colonies seem to echo your sentiments and join the fray. Never mind that she was just severely burned by the devious Privateer. It is a wise move to band together and remove the most serious threat as fast as possible. I take it as a compliment… I will also take a moment to congratulate the Colonies on staying in character. J, you continue to post prose that I am unequal to in an attempt to make the game more realistic and enjoyable. I tip my hat at you for that, and for not just giving up in disgust. The only player that irritates me is the one who joins a game and does not stick it out when things don’t go their way. The players who ‘go down with the ship’ are the ones who deserve the respect. There are lots of life-lessons hidden in this game. To wrap this up for now, let me just say this: Some people like to play the ‘good guys’ and some people like to play the ‘bad guys’. This is an alternate-reality game, so no harm done in either case. Many people use this type of game as a means to blow off steam from the frustrations of life. To play and have fun in such a morass of psychological releases, one MUST accept the fact that this venting is going to occur. This fact cannot be changed by complaining about it. Don’t waste your time getting indignant at a sneaky tactic or a harsh post. Enjoy the fact that the bullets are not real, and play with wreckless abandon. Happy Holidays, my fellow VGAP nuts! -EB |

|
2468 days, 18 hours, 46 minutes ago | | | Dropping character for a moment, I'd like to mention a few brief items.- In the time I've been playing at VGAP Nu, I've not once joined a game with a pre-arranged partner. I join a game, look around, see who my neighbours are, and endeavor to strike a reasonable bargain.
- You'll notice that there's no 1st-place finishes in my roster, though I've been part of winning teams. I'm here to have fun, to inject a bit of character into the game, and to try my hand at interesting new strategic situations. I've only been completely removed from one game (ironically, by a Privateer-Robot team, and even then only when I was playing the Rebels), but I do play the bloody things out to the bitter end.
- I'm glad to see that at least someone enjoys the in-character aspect I try to bring to the table. Bonus points for whomever recognises the naming convention for the ships of my fleet.
- I'll not be going to "holiday mode". I live alone... which has the advantage of grilling a lovely Porterhouse tomorrow rather than enduring yet another dried-out turkey, as well as computer access as I wish rather than finding myself mired amid the verbal spewings of second cousins thrice removed.
Right then. Let's get back to it. |

|
|
|
2467 days, 22 hours, 3 minutes ago | | | While I'm also a bit of a piker when it comes to American sports, I do know that "the Fighting Irish" is a reference to the American-style football team of the University of Notre Dame.
Then again, I tend to think of American-style football as "armoured rugby." |

But to add another thing, what has the pirates actually done to the lizards, lets see, did he take any ships? Hmmm No, did he abide by the NAG and not attack the lizards, hmm yep! Did he leave the negotiated planets alone? He sure did, but he did give the robots some MBR's, what wrong with trade? That's what u all wanted in the beginning anyways, trade and peace! Since the lizards can't fight themselves because the our cowards, I welcome you all to fight with the coward! Because he was just done wrong! Whatever! Diplomacy what diplomacy, how's that strong arming working out for you now! As for the colonies, I agree , I screwed ya! But what can I say, I'M A PIRATE!!!!! As for the lizards maybe your boyfriend Tom can get down here before you take it in the backside! And Tom why haven't you guys all formed alliances so we know who we are fighting? Just like you wanted us to do in the beginning! I don't understand? This game is about peace right? Haaaahaaaa, oh yeah thanks for the probe crystals! Colonies better watch out for the fascists! Infiltration starts, ok well it started a while ago!!!!!!!!! Killph |

The Commodore returned a mirthless grin and replied, "Given what happened when he ran into our mines? Yeah, I'd go with desperate. Not that he's done as a threat; far from it. But he's finding the situation... altered from what he expected."
"Has the worm turned, Commodore?"
"The worm has turned and is packing a chain-gun, Major." |

"Admiral, is there a problem sir?"
"No, my loyal captain," the admiral sounds out with a brief smirk. "I was just awed at how a human can have a bigger "forked tongue" then a lizard? Now, if we can just get rid of his irritating and insistent incoherent blabbering"
Then the admiral turns his attention to something more important, like cleaning the dirt from under his claws...

2465 days, 15 hours, 6 minutes ago | | | At last i've had time to read a bit on this discussion.
Just to clarify i m NOT in character, i m me :)
My guess is we all love or at least like this game, or else we would not spend time playing it. Also i guess some of us likes a challenge trying to the best of our abilities to make a difference to become leave a legacy like winning, be part of an alliance, just hanging in there, not quit until the fat bird squacks or something like that.
From what i read it seems like quite a few of you also like to share the game with others by talking through a "charactervoice" in this discussion, which suppose do add some flavor to the gaming experience for those so inclined.
I m a bit surprised to see that there is, at least in my view, some tendencies towards what I deem to be borderline uncivil language here.
These are some posts that i think represent what i m trying to say:
===== jessilaurn: Listening to the continuing banter over the subspace radio, the XO turned to the Commodore and quietly asked, "Is it just me, or did that latest bit from that Killph bastard sound desperate?"
The Commodore returned a mirthless grin and replied, "Given what happened when he ran into our mines? Yeah, I'd go with desperate. Not that he's done as a threat; far from it. But he's finding the situation... altered from what he expected."
"Has the worm turned, Commodore?"
"The worm has turned and is packing a chain-gun, Major."
===== killph: You people crack me up! Desperation huh? As the one who says come get some! Colonies I welcome your challenge! But just remember I not the idiot that gave the pirates and intel agreement and lost a Virgo and two cobol's in the same turn! Desperation that's funny, guess you will find out the hard way when your next ship disappears! This is just too fun! I could take it further but I will spare you the embarrassment! Consider this me being Nice! Arrrrgg :)
===== jessilaurn: You know, Killph, I'm all for a friendly wargame. I'm all for some nice in-character banter as well.
What I'm not for is out-of-character insults. It's a sodding game, mate, and if you can't play it without calling the other players idiots or the like, you're doing it wrong.
====== killph: How is this not in character for a pirate? I thought I was doing it right! Lying, cheating, thieving, disrespectful pirate! You are wrong little lady, I am 100% in character! Their are days I just like to rant! (Out of character: sorry if I offended you) LOL!!!!

Radio silence.................... =====
Now it is me again ;)
I have no trouble understanding when for instance Jessilaurn talks as the real person, or when she is "in character". I do have some trouble understanding when you are Killph. You say that this is "in character" for you. By all means this could be your in character voice for all i know. It would actually have been quite refreshing for a pirate to be rude as hell and have a certain diehard-self-erradicating-turn-everybody-against-oneself-cause-i-sure-as-hell-will-kick-ass-and-steal-all-your-ships-til-i-die-or-smother-you-all-in-SHIT!!!-attitude.
I would have had no problem with that attitude comming from an "in character voice", but if this is the case, you (the player/real person) should be aware of this: Never talk about the game on a meta level in the same "tone of voice"/manner of language as your character.
By doing that you defltly undermine your "in character" voice by making me belive this can only be the real person talking. And if you could do something that further underlines when you are, and when you are not in character, that would further strengthen my understanding of "who is talking". And by making others understand that you would not feel like everybody has turned on you (perhaps i misunderstand you yet again and your radiosilence is also in character - then you have my appologies).
On another note i hope everyone enjoyes the game :)

2465 days, 12 hours, 12 minutes ago | | | High Commander Cottontail received yet another transmission on the intergallactic band, and almost smoked a diode deciphering it. "Proof positive that organic life forms make no sense!" was the only conclusion his microprocessors could come to after several teraflops of calculations... With a short burst from his internal transmitter, the robotic horde stirred as one and began moving towards their ships' torpedo bays. Easter would come early this Standard Year... |

2462 days, 14 hours, 5 minutes ago | | | "Bad news first." Commodore Jessilaurn demanded. She knew things had gone badly, and had long preferred to get pain done with in as quick and direct a fashion as possible.
"They towed off both Ocean and Revenge. Absolutely no hope of recovering them before capture." That hit hard; Ocean had been the first Patriot-class light carrier built in this sector, and Revenge was the most recent battlestar out of the slipways.
"Make sure that the boys down in Intel mark all codebooks aboard those two as compromised." She sighed the sigh of one who really, truly detested the waste of war. "Is there any good news in this mix, Major?"
"A few items," the XO replied. "Revenge didn't have her Viper complement yet; she's restricted to her beams until they can beg or steal fighters to base on her, though Tactical figures they'll transfer a squadron or two over from Ocean and Valiant... not that Valient ever had anything close to a full compliment herself, and you know how small the bays are on those Patriots."
"Well, that something anyway," the Commodore rued.
"Also, another of those damned Meteors gutted itself on a mine, and our new allies killed one of the smaller hot-warp jobs."
This brought the hint of a chuckle from the Commodore. "Remind me to get the crews on those minelayers a commendation if we survive this war."
The XO wasn't done, and to Jessilaurn's surprise produced the slightest of grins. "One more thing, Ma'am. Revenge got a bit of her namesake with those beams before she was beyond hope. We've captured a Meteor."
The slow smile that spread across the Commodore's lips was reward enough for the Major. |

“That ssstill leavess that inferno Cat’ss Paw laying miness.”

"Sssir, ssscanners are ssshowing an explossion in the pirate sssector. Wait, confirmation coming in. Yess, it ssseems the cruiser "Pay Back" hass desstroyed the pirate MCBR and captrured a large deep space freighter."
"Wass thiss the freighter that our intel ssshowed had over sssix hundred kilo-tons of sssupplies on board?" the Admiral asked in anticipation.
"It was sssir, but reportss ssshowed sssix hundred empty large crates with bottles of sssmashed Charlarian Rum bottless all over the floor. We thought the freighter was using evassive maneuverss to get away from our boarding partiess, but instead they were all just drunk!"
"Not a bad turn of eventss officer." the admiral replied
"That'ss not all sssir. It ssseems that the decloaker Defensive Tactics hass destroyed a Robotic MCBR in sssector twelve."
"Really? I thought this wass a possibility, but who would have guesssed they decided to fly right into this trap? This helps with the defensse of that area. Thosse bots were laying lots of miness. Ssstill, we have those pirate MCBR'ss in the center wanting to take control. Of coursse in the nebula, their cloaking advantage iss gone. And we sssaw what happens to a decloaked pirate ssship." the Admiral started a hearty laugh.
"Last thing sir. I am saving the best for last. It seems reports are showing that the Tin Head ship we towed into our void has run out of fuel. And out of humor, they renamed it Lizard Loaner" "The Admiral stood up at this news. Yes!" The two lizards slapped tails in mid air in a show of excitement. " With our ship building hurt, having this extra Golem will definitely help matters!"
"There is still the matter of the other Golem in our cluster and the mine layer. I expect a 150 light year minefield again this season sir."
" Yes, this is a pain. But, the last two 150 light year minefields are no more, are they now?. Therefore, I think we can handle this minefield as well. Okay, let's stop our celebrating. We still have a long way to go for security. Prepare our defenses, organize or offensives, set up for minefield destruction and open up our communication channels. Even with all of their pre-galaxy planning, the Tin heads and Pirates may have bit off more then they could chew !!!!!"
Although burdened by the long nights of actions, the communications officer had a little more bounce in his step.

2454 days, 22 hours, 21 minutes ago | | | Static like a blizzard - both in sound and appearance - filled the channel. "Can't you clear that up a bit more?" "Trying Ma'am... ok, that's as good as it's getting," replied the tech, as the bridge of a Klingon ship could be seen through the snow.
"Sorry for the bad connection, General," Commodore Jessilaurn said, "but it's there for good reason. That shockwave was really something." That was an understatement, she knew; the Glory Device had ripped the lend-lease destroyer apart, and sent out a massive wave of destruction that similarly obliterated the cloaked Meteor-class privateer that had approached the Epsilon Indi slipways.
"Damage to your fleet?" If nothing else, the Klingons were direct, and General Dazdya was no exception.
"We were braced for it. Minor buckling on a few of the smaller ships; nothing we can't handle. But that raider is very, very gone."
"Good," the Klingon grinned through the snow with a fangy smile. "Glad to see your fleet is up to standards."
"Oh, we are that. Thank you again, General. At some point, we're going to have to see how your gunners do with the batteries of a battlestar." The Commodore imagined that the Klingon's grin went a touch wider, a bit more feral, as the connection dropped. |

2448 days, 11 hours, 53 minutes ago | | | So we are joined by Puppet Master, who is a very close companion of EB and Killph. Welcome PM, it is a pleasure to have you join our game. I have to tell you that you are going to be destroyed with equal vigor as we are attempting to destroy your 'other' allies. Six to three is not much better for you than six to two. I am going to enjoy grinding the two (one) (three) of you into space dust. It seems to me that players of your quality and skill would not need another friend or relative (or two) to gain an advantage over your opponents. You are so skilled and capable that you should be able to beat us at a three to one disadvantage.
It is important to me that I punish your machinations. You two (one) (three) are going to be hunted down and destroyed to the last planet, the last Warship, the last Star Base, and the last freighter, I hope you enjoy being slowly crushed into star dust.

2448 days, 9 hours, 7 minutes ago | | | Well great Rebel Rouser, I must say I thought about having someone fill the empty slot. After all, who more deserves to recruit an ally then the player that was mislead and attacked in a pincer movement against two players seeking your destruction since the beginning of the game. I have a dozen Star Warriors that would have joined the game.
However, I thought that those players worked hard on coordinating the attack and although I have been teamed up before, I have not been systematically mislead for the purpose of destruction. I am having a blast to see how long I can survive. I didn't think it would be fair to bring in another ally and ruin their plans. I felt as if I had to survive within the bounds of the game. I know that I have frustrated the Bots a little by not dying immediately and destroying and stealing his carriers. It is a challenge I know will cost me the game, but in the name of fun and future defenses, I was willing to let this play out. I have no hard feelings about being ganged up on.
Therefore, be it said that if the Fed player was brought in for the sole purpose of rescuing the Bots and shoring up the evil axis's lead when their beginning ploy went bad, I will not quit and my fork tongued mouth will not take it's last breath until the evil axis of the Pirates/Bots/Feds are rid from this galaxy! That was just in bad form...

2445 days, 22 hours, 59 minutes ago | | | Dazdya:
I have no doubt that EB is a very nice guy. He told me so as I was investigating what was going on in the game. I am glad that he is and I believe him. He also told me he likes to take his real world 'aggression's' out in VGA. That is fine with me, also.
In fact, everything he did is fine with me. The end result of his actions is that a bunch of people are willing to put aside their differences as competitors in a war game to make sure that he did not get what he wanted to achieve (which is an advantage over other players). We can see that if we let him and killph take out the Lizards that they are not going to stop there, but come after us next. So it is in our best interests as individuals to act as a group to stop him.
So in the end, when he asks why he should give up his tactical advantage of coming in to a game with a pre-determined ally and actually announcing that fact, the answer is because everyone else is not operating under the same 'game culture' and when they discover that he is playing under different rules that benefit him, but put everyone else at a disadvantage, then they feel like the game is rigged against them (which it is) and they will take extreme measure to make sure he does not succeed (which we are).
Therefore and in conclusion, EB's BEST advantage is to let everyone know the true situation. Then they can decide if they want to not play in the game, to team up with someone else, or to continue playing as an individual position. Most importantly, he does not create a situation that motivates everyone to join together for the purpose of killing his player position. OR to play in a game structure (team game) where this is the accepted norm.

=======================================================================
The Owl had been smart, as usual, he thought. Getting this Haaburger abducted from his human habitat was clever indeed. Inserting the birdbrain ver. 0.764b chip even more so. The only iffy thing was the inferior human physiology. The Human reptile brain had become so retarded that the brand new birbrainchip v1.0 WITH the firmware upgrade #5673265NOFUSS does not integrate at all.. It all could have been so much better....FOOOOODDD!!!! Why, the Owl wondered, does human "evolution" retard the pinnacle of brain tissue - only to replace it with some kind of associative mass of cells, divided in two halves that do not communicate well with each other at all.... and the WORST part being the replacment of instincts with reason... what is wrong acting the way birds always do? FOOOOD!!! yeeeesss!!!! NESTING!! YEEESSSSS!!! NESTING GGGOOOODD!
ohh well thought the owl, he could see everything, no reason told him his headturning might hurt his neck. HA! "No human brain, no pain"! That much he had learned from studying his human. The Birdbrain enhanced Haaburger was his perfect weapon, it had done him great good as an adapter to the alien prospect of diplomacy. The owl understood the birdbrainchip (even this old version) and the captive did all the translating himself.
HA! thought the Owl, the stupid bird of pray nest! WHY would they always claim that killing all non bird lifeforms is best. Why dont they see that birds can rule every being using implants. Our cloaking ships is perfect for the abductions needed to test the interface compatibility toward different races.
Lately the owl had had some uneasy feeling about what is going on in this sector. There is a war raging. In some way the birdbrain chip has transferred something unknown from haaburger to him... he could not tell what it was.... it scared him.... KILLL!!!! KILLL!!!!! EVERYONE MUST DIEEE!!!!!!...
"UUUUUHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU he hooted...."
all the birds stopped in their tracks.... all bobbing their heads, eyes blinking void of intelligence - expecting... it seemed they expected him to say something... HELL he did not even know he hooted... SHIT!...
"UUUHHHUUUU..."
oh no! he did it again.... MY oh MY if there ever was an owl who wished he was an ostrich.. he was the one. What bliss... just stick your head in the sand and you're safe... a comforting thought. A big cacophony woke him to reality... his imaginary head-in-the-sand moment gone for ever. He was in control YESSS he was. MASTER of himself. This is BAD! he thought, the headless chickens had already started running about, stirring the others... vultures was circling ever tighter above also. Then, in a moment of clairvoyance, he knew what to do.
"UUUUHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I have had communication with other commanders in the quadrant. It seems there is a war coming. And it is not to our fault - it is EVERYONE ELSE!!!"
Now the ostrich slammed their head into the ground, the headless chickens ran off into the talons of the birds of pray. Vultures landed for some leftovers, parrots repeating over and over and over " EVERYONE ELSE!!!" Some stupid doves flew off, homing in on their nesting grounds - figuring that after war comes peace and some one had to make some good loving - producing offspring - as shining white peace doves might become a commodity later on.
"I ve had a plan for us to plant chips in every lifeform in this quadrant from hightech cloaking ships. we were almost set for out first set of testing on a massive scale on the FEDs, having deals with many other of the races - securing us planets for this enterprise. then like a snake in the trees a rebellious commander is stupid enough to put us on a list that he distributes to everyone on OPEN channels forcing us to take sides officially!"
PECK PECK his eyes out they all sang in unison! The owl felt satisfaction, he might turn this into the biggest nest seen - EVER!!!
"Also the robots are changing agreed on borders as they please. This can not be tolerated! If we do then our children will be next!"
NO! NO!! NO!!!!! If we tolerate this, our children will be next!!! they all sang in unison. The owl was happy with this, he flew up to his favorite branch and stayed awake the whole night. Pretty happy about the outcome. Putting the blame on others, and making up external enemies was a winner! How the hell did it occur to him to do just that... and WTF!! Did Haaburger just look at him not even trying to hide that snug smirk on his lips?????!!
"UUUUUHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

WARREN ZEVON "Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner" (Warren Zevon & David Lindell)Roland was a warrior from the Land of the Midnight Sun With a Thompson gun for hire, fighting to be done The deal was made in Denmark on a dark and stormy day So he set out for Biafra to join the bloody fray
Through sixty-six and seven they fought the Congo war With their fingers on their triggers, knee-deep in gore For days and nights they battled the Bantu to their knees They killed to earn their living and to help out the Congolese
Roland the Thompson gunner...
His comrades fought beside him - Van Owen and the rest But of all the Thompson gunners, Roland was the best So the CIA decided they wanted Roland dead That son-of-a-bitch Van Owen blew off Roland's head
Roland the headless Thompson gunner Norway's bravest son Time, time, time For another peaceful war But time stands still for Roland 'Til he evens up the score They can still see his headless body stalking through the night In the muzzle flash of Roland's Thompson gun In the muzzle flash of Roland's Thompson gun
Roland searched the continent for the man who'd done him in He found him in Mombassa in a barroom drinking gin Roland aimed his Thompson gun - he didn't say a word But he blew Van Owen's body from there to Johannesburg
Roland the headless Thompson gunner... The eternal Thompson gunner still wandering through the night Now it's ten years later but he still keeps up the fight In Ireland, in Lebanon, in Palestine and Berkeley Patty Hearst heard the burst of Roland's Thompson gun and bought it |

2441 days, 13 hours, 22 minutes ago | | | For what it's worth, I'm out. The only effective way to fight Privateers (other than with all-too rare Glory Devices) is with mines... and you can't make decent use of mines when Robot-owned Meteors are zipping in and dumping at x4 rate. A battlestar has zero value to the Colonies when it's inevitably going to be stolen by the Privateers.
Enjoy the "game". |

2433 days, 16 hours, 46 minutes ago | | | Welcome Puppet master; Or shall I say, "puppet of the masters". I see you have joined the Robots and Pirates (of course that is the whole reason you joined the game) by sending a Fed owned MCBR into the Lizard home cluster. It's nice to see that friends will help out a buddy when their sneeky-devious plan backfires and does not work for them. Hey, just get a few more sneeky-devious players and maybe you can pull off a win, even if the honor is not really there. Well, now that you have cloaked into my area and been exposed, you too shall dies a merciless death.... (ahem, or at least try my best with what little I have....) I know, threats from my puny empire doesn't make you shiver, but hey, I gotta try......

2425 days, 18 hours, 58 minutes ago | | | Nuts... noooooooo... only ladybirds like them nuts nut$... yyeeeesssss$$$$$$$ we like Heard a story from a pelican the other day... told me about a lttle lizard and how crazy they are..... A crow did snatch a stupid squirrel from a branch and the stupid squirrel hold on to a nut... lost it at the same time the crow snapped its neck. As the pelican watched the nut fall... he saw a a lizard crawling on the ground... he had nothing but peace in mind it seemed as it was a sunny day, but as the nut smashed into its head the little bugger started yapping like a rabid dog... who knew they could do that... I do kind of disbelieve that part of the story though, as we all know how SMART pelicans are... duuuhhh anyway... the lizard started yapping, and speak incoherent about robots, pirates and other lowly scum like that. Even some kind of "you had your chance" federation was mentioned. The crazy lizard went on about it like no tomorrow was ever coming. Then before the pelican flew off to a more peaceful place, he heard the little creature talk about meteors go boom.... and mines... and stopping them... It did not make any sense at all to the pelican's birdbrain... why must good things come to an end????!?!?! As everyone knows big minefields means bigger chance of meteors... and more meteors equals a higher chance for finding massive meteors, and that in turn is resources - nuts some say... i say nut$$$$$! Thus, red circles - BRING EM on!

2421 days, 11 hours, 28 minutes ago | | | The logistics officer approached the Admiral to advise him
of a new addition to the fleet. “Sir, the newest task force arrival will soon be here.” “Great,” the admiral replied. “What is it this time? Another of our wonderful Lizard Class
Cruisers? Is it a new one?” “No sir. It is a captured Fed cloaker. And, our best guesses
is that it is not new” In alarm the Admiral raised his eyebrows. He was
used to captured ships. The enemy seems
to be just giving them away. “I did not
know the Feds built cloakers. And why
would you say it was not new.” “Well sir, intelligence reports state that we will get the
ship from the Crystals. The Crystals got
the ship from the Feds. The Feds got the
ship from the Robots. The Feds have
received many ships from the Bots as they are upgraded. The Bots got the ship from the Pirates. so, i'm guessing it's not a new ship. Wheew.” The Logistical officer needed to take a breath. “ My goodness, those pirate ships get around. I doubt their crew even knows who their
owners are now. Are all pirate crews
that unloyal to any cause or race, or are they just really bad fighters.” “I really can’t answer that sir. But you do know the Bots and the Pirates and the Feds have
been fighting us for many seasons now, threatening that they will destroy us,
sending huge carriers against out planets only to be destroyed or stolen, sent
hundreds of cloakers only to run away or be destroyed… I guess you can answer that for yourself. “ “You have a point officer.
Continue.” “Nothing more to say sir.
The enemy communicates well enough.
They planned their surprise strategy with misinformation good enough,
but you can only do so much damage when you are experienced in deception but
new to fighting. I’m quite surprised
they didn’t try to find a galaxy where there were more new commanders in space
they could actually succeed their ploy in.” “Oh well, live a learn for them I guess. They ARE determined to make us suffer though.
“ The Admiral handed the logistics officer a tray. “Another chocolate cover
cricket and a mug of Klag?” The logistics officer displayed a huge smile. “Yes, this
kind of suffering I can deal with. But no
sir, I need to go check on our latest crew of captured enemies and make sure
they are scraping the hulls of our ships to Lizard standards. We like to have clean ships when we cloak.” The admiral waved him off. “Good enough officer. But may I ask that you quit making those pirates
wear the maid outfits. They just look
silly.” “I’m aware of that sir.
But, really, isn’t that the point????????” |

2418 days, 17 hours, 15 minutes ago | | | "yaaarrrrrRRRRR" [the undying and famous last words of the pirate clan in the moriak sector] the mockingbird said out loud - or more like screaming on top of its lungs, as was the final line, in the play "Pirates what are they good for" sponsored by the Owl, was delivered. The undertitle ofcause being "absolutely NOTHING!"
Every single bird thought it was a good show, and the performance superb. The mockingbird had outdone himself in his interpretation of killph. The squeaky voice, the rude language, the childish and naive way of thinking, and last but not least his tendency to pilot what ever starship he could get his hands on, into the nearest mine. Like, what ARE the odds of having a meteor class blockade runner strike a mine, when the nearest - and ONLY - mine is 162,1 LY away. The final scene pictured just this. Like a homing pigeon find its way home, so did killph - BBBOOOOMMMM!!!!
Perhaps it is a good thing, Haaburger thought, that this poor pirate has opened comchannels again.... or is it really him.... Semi new intel had it that the well respected puppet master is in this sector... perhaps the pirate has gotten some strings attached.... we all know the toasters has been hacked by federation puppeteers - stringing toasters up by the millions... Haaburger pondered on this while som talkative birds went by... they were all chattering like crazy and haaburgers birdbrain (TM) just followed suit and it took a day, or was it two, before Haaburger was fully himself again. Jaw, as well as vocal cords was sore from all the bird chat... or chittchatt as he thought it to be.... well... the puppet master - yes. He likes to think that other beings are crazy - well - why the hell bring stringed up dolls to a spacefight... THAT do not make sense at all.
well well... crazy or not, who can actually be the judge of that??? Some pirates think it is in drinks - drunken slobs that they are themselves... Do no one know that birdbrains actually works on a fundamentally different level. crazywater or crazydrinks he call it..... EVOLUTION says the Owl.
well i'll bet that shut you up killph. the Owl hooted into the night sky... you cant steal our brains!
Haaburger saw the desperate rusteling of feathers on the Owl and and whispered in its ear: .. errr.... what if he actually can do that??
The Owl turned his head in surprise and said well maybe he can.. but NOT our thoughts!!!
Having upset the Owl Haaburger was pleased... alway did wonders for his sleep, and hoped for the opposite effect for the Owl.... well bugger he dont sleep at.. not at all.. that paranoid leader of birds.
and in an official note to the bunnies, puppets and drunken slobs this is a message from the OWL inviting you to SURENDER NOW! You might just be so lucky that the Owls looks DOWN upon you and takes pity in you, and just MAYBE you will be so lucky as to have a birdbrain (TM) installed into your brain/CPU.
Haaburger did his duty as was required and after he saw message was uploaded into the comchannels in this sector he had a moment of recollection. Haaburger felt sorry for them as he remembered the agony of having the Owls surgeons peck his skull open and jam their birdbrain (TM) chip into the core of his brain....
REALLY SORRY for them.

DragonDejhi=- sits in the command center pouring over the maps. He slams his fist on the table. Claws make deep marks on the wood grain. “Too many damn minefields. But we are keeping
them at bay…” His advisor walked into the office within the
command center of the newly updated starbase.
“You called for me sir.” “Yes, Have
we started to build ships yet. For too
long our Lizard designs have been sitting idle. I want results NOW!” Knowing that
the answer to this question was going to set off the anger within the Supreme
Commander, the adviser knew he also had something the boss man would like to
hear. “Although I
know the punishment and I would prefer not to get my tail snipped, I must
report that very few Lizard vessels have come out of the shipyards.” “WHAT!!! Get
me those incompetent ship builders! I want answers now!” “I can give
you the answers you seek sir. You see,
at your orders, we have been destroying 50,000+ enemy mines a turn. This takes
resources and it was at your bidding.” “Yes, that
has priority. But how will the Lizard Alliance keep the enenmy at bay if they
grow in ships and we do not. What use
are the shipyards if they sit empty.” “Ahem, sorry
sir. You misunderstand me. I did not say
our ship yards sit empty. They are very busy indeed. In fact, our shipyards had
to add a third shift just to keep up with the demand.” “Please
explain.” A frown crossed the commander’s face. “ The reason
we have not been able to build new lizard is because they are soooo busy and
the ship yards are sooooo full with all the captured ships in the yard. Why, this season alone we had to repair and
refit a Pirate MCBR and a Robot Cat’s Paw. They are ready for service now. In the ship yards now is our THIRD robot
Golem captured, yet another MCBR and one of their speedy little BR5’s. In the end sir, not only are we GETTING new
ships, but we are taking them away from the enemy, leaving them less. Although,
after seeing the ship building of the enemy, most of their ships are crap and
none have been at full technology. I
think their ship builders must be on something. Oh well, never trust a tin-head
I guess. “ A smile
started to cross the supreme commanders face. “Oh well, that is good news
indeed. And with the reports that we
just destroyed a FED MCBR. Things are not looking so bad. The Lizards are a torp race first and foremost.
But it seems that the Robots have given us a mighty armada of carriers that
they will need to deal with.” A concerned
look crossed the commanders face. “Disassemble all tin-heads and execute any
pirate or Fed. Double our pilot training.
We have a lot of fighter seats to fill.
Send a note to the Robots, Pirates and Feds. Request that they send
better ships with higher tech as they continue their invasion. Tell them we have a shipbuilding school they
should consider sending students too.
However, explain that I can’t promise their students won’t be eaten.” A hearty
laugh escaped the commander. “Oh silly
wabbit. When will he learn.”

Don't be upset silly Wabbit. Remember this all started because Bots and Pirates decided to trick the Lizards into a peace agreement and then ganged up on him with a surprise attack. Oh, you reap what you sow.... Not go giddy when the tables are turned. And yes, lol, it will still be a very satisfying !!!
But unlike the Rebels, this is not a foregone conclusion. Maybe it's because I am so beat up. But your victory can still be there. Your lead was almost overwhelming before the other side organized. Almost is the hope. And with fine commanders in the helm of the pirates and bots and Feds, it will only take one mistake and your victory could be there?
