Bump ... the NA Con will happen - TG prepare a nice looking, very exciting agenda for the CON and a serious amount of commanders will make the trek to the Con!

@Frostriese, do you have an idea of how many people would be there? That would give us an idea of the location we need. If it's not too many, my living room, or Robin's, could work. Do we have options in Germany? Is anyone's living room available until 3am?

@daydya: in Mainz I can use our office as location -- 24h open with wlan up to 20 people :)

For the location between NL and GER, I need some time to get an idea where to find a cheap location with wlan and that is open from 9 PM to 3 AM :)

seems we have a majority for a location in Germany. I have not found a good location next to Cologne / Duisburg ... I suggest Mainz.

Folks, can someone fill me in on how our broadcast will work. I have a video camera we can use, we'll need to mic the speaker (which I also have, but not sure of the quality of either - how can I test?).

Where will we broadcast too? Youtube channel?

The earlier PlanetsCons used Hangouts on Air for broadcasting. Worked pretty well for the live streams save for one where the sound was garbled. And bonus is that the the videos got saved automatically.

It was very easy to use but experimenting a bit beforehand is always a good idea.

If possible, it would be nice if you could use the same googl hangout account. I think it is owned by Thin lizzy. this way, ll the videos will be kept together.

I found it relatively simple, but only after I spent a couple of hours figuring it out.

Frostriese: Either I'm getting blind with my old age, or you haven't added the Mainz meeting location to the page you listed yet.

I'd like to do the booking fairly soonish. Did you already pick a spot with

1) Sufficiently powerful internet connection for the live feed
2) the ability to party until deep into the night
3) the ability to somehow keep thirsty and hungry people alive?

@Mentar: you have already ticked the Mainz location :)

We use in Mainz our office ... stable inet connection, free wifi for all, clean and reliable infrastructure (frigde, restrooms etc), open all time :P

I am working on the catering part ... I suggest the local delivery heros for a lunch, when the most commanders are hungry. I have a backup, if we prefer a classic meal :)

over night stays -- there is a German youth hostel 500m away, a B&B hotel or for the party people ... a lot of space on the floor for a short period of sleep.

Details about locations, time table, contact data will be send by mail this evening or tomorrow.

Many interesting presentations from the other side of the ocean, though sometimes the quality of the stream made it a little difficult to follow, especially the discussions. It's been nice to put faces to many (in)famous nicknames ;-)
A State of the Nuniverse with much to be pondered about. I liked especially the larger context and the idea, to be developed, of area domination/stabilization. That might lead to a lot of exciting developments, in my opinion.
Interesting new Borgs' ship by our new Emperor, even though at 2 AM CET concentration began to slip a little......
