Where is everybody moving their scripts to, now that userscripts.org is dead? Seems the three main replacement options are:
monkeyguts.com
openuserjs.org
greasyfork.org

Greasyfork seems to have the most detailed statistics. Openuserjs has an opt-in grouping feature, but it seems greasyfork auto groups scripts by site, which is nice. Monkeyguts seems to have a nice UI, but no grouping.

I haven't tried uploading/maintaining scripts with any of the three. Does anyone have any thoughts from using any of these sites, compared to userscripts.org, which was fairly nice?

userscripts.org:8080 mirror is still alive, and it maintains the old repository. Haven't tried uploading to it yet.

Its been down for the past week, whenever I try to go. The only thing up now is the static mirror site. Time to abandon ship and go to a living/growing script site.

Mirror site for userscripts.org, which seems to be dead.

Example: Big Beefer's game commentary script is:

http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/180685.html

From there you can link to all his other great scripts. You may have to update your links in Tampermonkey.

To get anyscript if you know its number, substitute the number for the "180685" above.

I installed the above script and the planets.nu toolkit from this site and they work fine.

I'm aiming at fellow script developers - Big Beefer, etc. Assuming we all continue to develop and update scripts, we'll need a new site. Would be nice if we centralize on one place.

I haven't had time for script work in a long time, but when I do get around to updating/moving them, I'll just go where ever everybody else does. Since Kedalion already put in the effort to switch to monkeyguts, I'd say we just follow him, unless another site is much better in some way.

And users like me will need a short walk-through on how to migrate, I like the simplicity of the autoupdate

All my Chrome extensions have been disabled! Gotta love Google :-(
I can see that kedalion has a half-dozen scripts at monkeyguts.com.
I installed Tampermonkey from the Google Chrome Web store - although Tampermonkey still points to (the broken) userscripts - so I entered monkeyguts.com in the address bar, found the Planets plugins and successfully installed a couple of them into Chrome via Monkeyguts, and they appear as being installed/enabled in Monkeyguts, but when I start Planets.Nu, they are not present.
So, who knows what's going on?
Would it be better to abandon Chrome and go to Firefox?

After trying all 3 sites, I've decided to go with greasyfork as it had the nicest features (for developers). My scripts are all posted there now under:

Okay, help. I like ideas behind these scripts and why they are helpful but I am a total script noob. I downloaded greasemonkey into my firefox browser and installed several of the scripts that dtolman posted. What is the next step to get them enabled within my games? Thanks for any help you may have to offer!

For anybody interested in what happened to userscripts.org:
http://metatalk.metafilter.com/23252/A-small-heads-up-about-userscripts-dot-org#1150119

It seems the founder & maintainer isn't in the mood to continue it and thus simply lets it die without warning.
I just hope this never happens to planets.nu (though I can't imagine it).

For the planetary management script, dotman left a few months back. Someone stated they made their own fork of it, but not sure where they are hosting it.

As an alternative, I've installed Google Chrome Canary, which is a "developer/beta" version of Chrome that still allows you to install your own extensions i.e. less restrictions. It comes with a caveat, that future updates may break it...

I see someone else (Big Beefer?) has been moving scripts to greasyfork as well - including the planetary management script v2.

I've updated my planets magazine article with all of the current links, as of right...now!
http://www.planetsmagazine.com/addons/available-mods-for-planets-nu/
This includes updating userscripts.org to userscripts.org:8080

Oh, I missed this thread. It would be nice if I could subscribe to everything posted in the 'addon' category...

I moved to monkeyguts.com as it looked like the most progressed attempt at a userscript alternative. @Dtolman, could you comment on what works better at greasyfork? I don't mind migrating again so that we keep the scripts together, but I'd like to know that we choose a good or maybe even the best option.

@Kedalion - uploaded to all 3 of the sites, and did some changes. While I definitely think monkeyguts has the cleanest UI - by far - of all 3, I think greasyfork has a better feature set:
-versioning/history
-sync with external sources
-stats (keeps track of downloads on daily and total basis)
-changelog in update screen
-site based grouping

i've personally had a lot of trouble with firefox (both older and newer versions) lately and i think it's (sadly) related to this site and possibly with the scripts. it crashes, very often, and always with the plugin container. i'm on chrome canary now and it's been stable, although i don't have any user scripts as yet. i'm thrilled that this post came along just as i was wondering the same.

@Dtolman, I finally got around to moving the first of my scripts over to greasyfork.org. After some testing it does work a lot nicer than the alternatives. :)
