A New Emperor has Risen! The Sagittarius War has Ended!

Emperor Spacesquad has these final words for the people:

"My dear citizens of the Echo Cluster, Warlords, Smugglers, sneaky friends and noble foes. About 10 years ago, after the Scorpius sector had been secured, I stood in front of this throne to take it from the old Emperor. At the time his Highness Emperor Dungeonmaster, who has brought light into the dark matter of battle mathematics, asked me to answer the deep questions of detailed strategy. While there is no simple answer to all those questions I will leave it up to the citizens of the Echo Cluster to judge if my legacy Planets Magazine is the right way to start. 

We all know Planets is more than just mechanics and strategy so I am very glad I can pass the next topic to someone that really lives Diplomacy. Today we celebrate one of the most feared diplomats, a true master of arms and strategic mastermind. 

I am happy to welcome our new member to the imperial family (and his super sexy assistant). All hail Emperor Mentar, may he lead us into a bright future! 

Mentar, with great power comes great responsibility. I have no doubt you will always find the right words in our beloved activity feed discussions nor will you allow to unbalance the game with a new Colonial ship design. Entertain us, support us and guide us so we all become better commanders.  I wish you all the fun and respect I was allowed to experience from this great community.

All Hail Emperor Mentar!

The Sagittarius War has been the longest running battle for Emperor at 158 turns. Emperor Mentar took the lead in planets on turn 37 and never relinquished it. Instead, he twirled his diplomatic strings and his enemies danced like puppets. He played friends against foes, stalled and delayed, and took advantage when opportunity struck. Only one commander truly refused to bend the knee. Andy44 of the Cyborg fought fiercely and impressively throughout the entire conquest but was crushed by the weight of Mentar's powerful alliance and The Federation Halion's inactivity. Only when it was far too late did the remaining forces turn to attempt to stop him. In yet another example of diplomatic wonder, Lord Helmet of the Fascist chose never to betray his beloved Emperor to be. He will now be providing entertainment in the Emperor's royal court for the duration of his reign. Rumors have been heard he has developed a hilarious performance involving a Targh and a tightrope. 

Historians will study this war for generations as the new gold standard in diplomatic warfare.  

Year 0035 will officially be known as the 1st Year of the Reign of Mentar.

To honor the occasion, The Imperial Senate has once again asked the Emperor to commission a new Ship Hull Design to use as his command ship. Once designed by Emperor Mentar the new Colonial ship will be named by the Senate and become available to be researched for Campaign battles by all future Colonial commanders.
