Gearing up for the project

Thursday, July 08, 2010
We've been extremely busy around here the past month.  We are finalizing some projects and preparing our resources to tackle the VGA Planets project.

There has been a lot of feedback, questions and general interest around the project and we have been answering a lot of emails.  Particularly around the Kickstarter fundraising, and "What happens to my money if you don't reach your goal?"  or just "What happens if you don't reach your goal?".

First off, if you pledge money to the Kickstarter fundraiser and we don't reach our goal nothing happens.  Your credit card will not be charged and we won't receive any money and no rewards will be sent out.

The Kickstarter fundraiser exists so we can tell how excited the VGA Planets community is about the project and to give us a chance to build a relationship with you and get you some cool stuff right off the start like t-shirts, posters and stickers, or so you can get a good deal now on your player account by buying in early.  Despite all the activity and interest we have had over the past month, there hasn't been a great deal of movement on the Kickstarter project.  It may be that very few of the existing players are willing to pay even a small amount for VGA Planets, we will see in the next few weeks.  I would like to encourage all of you who haven't pledged your support to go back to the Kickstarter project page and take a look at the rewards we are offering.  Getting a cool VGA Planets t-shirt for $25 is a good deal and will show your support for the project.

We are coming into the final three weeks of the fundraiser.  We would love to see VGA Planets reborn and the community revived, if you would too then tell us by pledging a few dollars.  Also, a super big thank you to those of you who have already pledged your support!

I have no poblem running Winplan on Windows 7 32 bit. Echoview also works fine.(32 bit beta)

7 offered to run Winplan with suggested conditions that I accepted. I have been using it successfuly all summer.

Thats true Tyrion, as long as you have the 32 bit version you are ok. Unfortunately, many (most) new machines are shipping with 64 bit windows.

Even with 64 bit machines (like mine) you can play VGAP, just get DOSBox and that's it
