Host Delay - 6 Hours

Thursday, July 21, 2011
There will be a 6 hour host time delay for games hosting today due to the downtime experienced over the past few hours on the website. We are adjusting our monitoring programs to ensure that an extended delay like this does not happen again without an admin present. The problem that occurred is an easy one to resolve unfortunately both qualified admins were away from the keyboard and unaware of the problem.

Is there any way to have the game list the correct host time, right now it says -6 minutes for my game for example.

The delay appears to be hard coded, even if all
turns are submitted, host appears not to run...

So enjoy your extra free time ;)

Hmm, turn processed? 1 early, 1 late? The early one was probably everyone turning their turn in, but the late one was only 2 hours late, and someone missed a turn this round

Apparently this 6 hours delay caused another occurrence of the 'jumping host'. I have two games and each had a glitch of the next host to run. Only one of these games was hosted on a Thursday.
The Thursday game appears to be on schedule again but I only realised now what happened to my other game.

18 hours I have been unable to run host nor has host run on any games. Having just pay'd three days ago to become a member, can someone please tell me that I did not purchase a VGA LEMON! 18 out of the 72 hours I have owned this LEMON, I have been unable to run host on any solo game, unable to run host on a blitz game, and nor has host run on any of my two multi-player games! I'm more than a little concerned at this point, can someone please reassure me that this event is not the norm or even the semi-norm.

Hi Incanus217,

a long downtime like this happended twice in the last half year. And as stated the staff will now take measures to avoid this in the future. Don't be too pessimistic ... enjoy this great game.

Haha ... I just realized that this is the staff statement concering the *last* big down time and not the actual one. Seems the anounced measures could be improved.
