Joining Games - Required Rank and Team Games

Tuesday, July 19, 2011
A change has been made to the policy when joining "Officers Games". Previously you had to have the required game rank in the race you were choosing. Now with the new policy you may join any race in the game as long as you have the required rank in any race. The goal of these games is to get better players playing against each other but not to limit the number of possible opponents.

In addition we'd like to point out that Team games are now available and open to all players. All players are welcome to join either as a group of three or as individual players who will form a team. The first team game Australis is off to a great start and definitely feels like it will be a great one!

Join these games here:
  • Lt-Commanders - Alpha's Star System
  • Lieutenants - Blauvehr System
  • Team Game - Fornax System

Absolutely great !!

A Commander on any race can play well in any other race, for sure !

I like!

There are two open slots in the Alcatraz System Officer's Game as well. It has just started (turn 8) - Rebels and Feds need replacements.

No look'n'drops please.

Bad idea, once the site has seasoned commanders and let's face it lieutenant is not hard to make then you will not have problems with officer games filling up. Instead you should break games to the ranks, such as Ensign and below for new players, lieutenant-commander and below for experienced players and commander and above for advanced players. Otherwise you run the risk of sneak and peeks and players not giving an appropriate challenge for the game they are eligible for.

How about this, for any race you haven't specialized in, you can join for one rank BELOW your highest rank.

"Overall rank" and "race rank", basically.

I was thinking of the same, so as borg captain I should be capable (albeit with some handicap) to join any commander game.

Do we still get achievement points, experience points, glory, and the adoration of women with team games like in regular games?

You sure do. Unless you are playing against a woman and she crushes you. Then you just get her pity. :)

^^ you get the pity anyway

If Starcraft players can have groupies, why can't we?
