Planets League Updates

Thursday, March 12, 2020

As our first Planets Nu League season gets started, we wanted to update our players with some additional information and features.

For those looking for a League Team...

We have added an option on your "Manage My Groups" page to designate that you are looking for a League Team. Checking this box will add you to our Free Agents list, which League Team admins can use to help find interested players to fill their team.

For League Team admins...

We have added an option to designate that your team is looking for more players and accepting requests to join. You can find it in the settings screen for your group. This will show your team as actively recruiting, and list it at the top of the League Teams list, so players looking for teams will easily find you. In the near future, you will need this setting checked to allow players to request to join. Otherwise, you will only be able to add members by inviting them.

Also, on the Invites tab, we have added the ability to view the Free Agents list, and invite players from it to join. As mentioned above, these players have already designated that they are looking for a team, so are good candidates to choose from.

Hopefully, these changes will help players looking for teams and teams looking for players find each other more easily.

For Casual Group admins...

We have separated the casual groups out into their own "Groups" section, separate from the league pages. Also, we have added an option to automatically accept players who request to join, for groups who want to be open to all without having to approve every request to join. We have also added the ability to rename casual groups.

Other League Information...

We are currently in the joining period of our league season. After a certain date league games will no longer be available. These dates are:

  • June 1st for long format games
  • November 1st for short format games

After the cutoff, no additional league games will be created. Games that have not filled will be deleted - with the exception of the giant melee which will be given 1 more week to start.

During this "Melee Madness" week any players who were waiting for a game to start may switch over and join the melee. The melee will start as long as there are at least 20 players.

Other...

For sphere games, we have added an additional in-game setting to adjust (or disable) the fading of the duplicated map area outside the "real" map, so you can tune it to your device and preference.
