Facebook attracts a lot of people who are into casual gaming and VGAP is for sure not a casual game. Therefore I would really prefer some actions against people quitting early. At least give those who do not quit the opportunity to play against people of their kind instead of the Farmville guy who sticks to the game for three turns. :-|

Hi Rudel, we need to explore every avenue to bring new players to the game, Facebook is one of the biggest game platforms on the net. New players starting there are put into a one on one blitz vs the computer. If they like the game they can join a standard game and start playing. Some of them are sure to stick around. So if you have a Facebook account hit the Like button so we can start to spread the word about Planets.

Does this mean like playing at one of the computers in the library?

I'm not a fan of Farcbook, but for what is worth my barely used account there gave you a "like"

I've participated in a few games that made themselves available on facebook. For a while Game Table Online had their "Axis and Allies" application available for facebook users. I actually made some contacts with people through that application that I chat with every now and again.

They removed it because I guess they had to dedicate servers to running it and it wasn't quite on the GTO site so they figured it wasn't driving traffic to their site or creating new signups. (which is 100% true).

Hey Joshua, I frequently use facebook so I decided to test it out. Its nice that it went to my "my games" page automatically but the size of the playing screen is extremely small and some of the words and numbers are overlapping. maybe have a link for the website so people dont automatically exit the game?

The whole auto-joining blitz games kinda ruined blitz for me... the last few I have tried joining have never gone beyong turn 1 :( I want to play blitz games, but without anyone to play against (that actually completes turn 1), it becomes somewhat hard to do :(

Oh wait, auto-blitz against the computer ;) Great. Guess it was just plain bad luck that my opponents never completed turn 1. I'll try a new one then!

Facebook publishes too much info about players finishing blitz or training scenarios. I've tons of messages about planets.nu and it will make me not to read important info you publish trhough facebook.

Do those show up on your wall?

No Joshua, those are shown at the news channel, but there are so much I don't read any of them and I'm afraid I loose any info you want to show there.

It's basically every player Event... yes, rather annoying and some facebook people would consider it spam. Perhaps need some sort of customisation of alerts as many other facebook apps have.

Ok, we'll scale those way back. Didn't realize that was happening.

I cannot see the right side of the "transfer" screen on Facebook. Can't play the game if I can't access half the screen.

I cannot find any scroll bars, draging the map is no help, I looked and tried everything I can think of.

What am I doing wrong?

@Dralmar, thanks for reporting this. The Transfer screen has been narrowed now in the facebook version.

cool app, but as here on the site, the startpage is not self-explaining yet. these buttons look for the newbie just like random buttons. i am sure that a better landing page will increase the likes tremendously. everybody likes online games.

I don't really like facebook apps as they normally just get way too much data about you... But lots of my friends are playing games like scrabble against each other. A Blitz against the computer is a good introduction, but challenging another facebook friend to a blitz is more interesting.

This would be cool, if i could sign with my real vgaplanets account.

My wife uses my acount to play Farmville (yuk). I hardly ever use it but I will go there and give you a like.
