Planets Nu - UI Update 2020 - Familiar but better!

Today when you sign into http://planets.nu you should see an entirely new user interface. We've done a full system update to improve the "outside of the game" experience - including new character art!

Better Looks and Mobile Experience

The new UI brings us up to date for 2020 - we've been using the original 2010 design until now with only minor updates. The new version features a big bold new home page for Planets Nu and a more consistent and comprehensive style accross all screens - which will also be easier for us to maintain and add to in the future. The new version should work much better on small screens and mobile phones while still giving an even better "big screen" experience.  

New Menu

The main menu and footer menus have been consolidated into a responsive right menu which will work well on both small and big screens.  

New Character Art!

Possibly the most exciting element of the new design is the introduction of new character art for the 11+1 races. As Planets Nu continues to build the world of the Echo Cluster as its own distinct nuniverse featuring our "Archetypal" races we wanted to create some artwork to bring them to life. We have been working with a concept artist over the past couple of months to achieve this goal.  

Tim's original designs for the races of the echo cluster depict the best traditional stereotypes of all of science fiction. We've tried to capture those stereotypes - while maintaining our originality. Enjoy! 

New Timeline - Explore the History of the Echo Cluster since 241_b

A new timeline has been added to the site which helps to further build the history of the Echo Cluster. Learn more about the arrival of the races in the Echo Cluster, the discovery of Charmed World, the line of Emperors since the Nu Calendar was formed and the Cosmic doomsday weapon that has shaped our past.
