The "Nu" project is 10% Funded!![]() Friday, June 04, 2010 Hello everyone, We achieved our first milestone today and are one step closer to a new VGA Planets version. The project has just reached 10% funding only 4 days after starting the fundraiser. A super big thanks to the people who have backed the project! But I just checked Kickstarter's page and today, July 1st, you have no achieved 20% of the goal. What happens if your project doesn't reach the goal until July 31? Joshua - Thursday, July 01, 2010 4:47 AM Hi Ebenezer, If the Kickstarter goal is not achieved we do not receive any of the money from the supporters. Basically, you pledge your support and only if we actually achieve our goal does the project go forward. We may re-evaluate the project idea and go forward more slowly, or not at all if there is not enough interest. joshua - Thursday, July 01, 2010 4:57 AM Here is an excerpt from Kickstarter that explains things: All-or-nothing funding? Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands. Why? It's less risk for everyone. If you need $5,000, it's tough having $2,000 and a bunch of people expecting you to complete a $5,000 project. It allows people to test concepts (or conditionally sell stuff) without risk. If you don't receive the support you want, you're not compelled to follow through. This is huge! It motivates. If people want to see a project come to life, they're going to spread the word. Ebenezer - Thursday, July 01, 2010 11:45 PM Thanks for the response, Joshua. And congratulations for you idea and for the way you are conducting it! I am asking these questions because I'd like to support the project, but I think that the goal is not going to be achieved - at least in this schedule. Is the money returned for the backers if the project doesn't go ahead? If I put money on it, and the goal of 10k is not achieved, my money goes to the the space? It doesn't seem fine to me... Joshua - Friday, July 02, 2010 3:37 AM Hi Ebenezer, I totally understand. If you put money in and we don't reach $10,000 your money doesn't go anywhere. So we just need to see if enough people will pledge their support to reach $10,000. Otherwise, no one has to spend anything. Ebenezer - Friday, July 02, 2010 1:08 PM Joshua, thanks for this clarification! I will register myself. I wish for you (and all of us, vga players) great luck in this project! Stormbull - Sunday, September 05, 2010 1:09 PM My subscription to WoW ended, so I went looking for the new & dead on this game and what do I find?
That it's being REMADE! WOOO HOOOOOooooooooooo! May I suggest for the larger donations, that a few extra registrations be given so they may be handed out to whomever the donor sees fit to, thou I do like the autograph thing. Where's Dan G, Ben S, and the rest of the old crew for that? Im a donor on autotroll Þ - - * And.. ADVERTISE this LOUDLY (big letters), cuz I only found this one via an old game contact, not on any of the 3 dozen planets websites I have checked. Forever VGAP.net, Stormbull
