the forgotten war front..........DiplomacyWrite Reply
I was reading posts in the other arena about why people drop out and some were commenting on time spent  in diplomacy........and designated time spent per turn on Diplomacy issues

I would love to see .Nu add some features to the diplomacy screen..........I'ld like to be able to save messages,..both sent and received .....with headers that identified what game it is....what turn it is.....who sent and who it was sent to..........as automatically as possible.
I feel frustrated and as if Iam back playing in a DOS based arena when I have to manually copy , paste and label and file,  every word....and save it.......with notations that let me couple it with the .Nu game that it's from and what was going on at that moment. That's not good.
............my brain is apparently RAM only........it's why I bought Hi Mem
I'd love to be able to save personal Diplomacy notes for any game that I am in...and have them be accessible when I enter the game turn screen, for that game.

I would also love to be able to save messages.  Specifically, messages I send.  And who they are sent to.

I absolutely second that.
Loosing messages that way had a (sometimes) huge impact on all of my 3 games so far (tho it might also be, that the players i am refering to simply don't care).

But since some of that players send me a message and sounded like the were disappointed about my lack of reaction to their messages, it seems more like they don't understand the current concept of the Ambassador... .

In some of this incidents this harmed me, in others them.
The game itself was harmed in BOTH cases due to an increase in frustration... .-_-

I know you are busy finding and exterminating bugs; but this can cause real frustration among players, just like bugs can.

If it can be done: add a checkbox at the end of each playermessage:
[x] Message has been read. (<- if not checked, the message will be send again in the following turn)

Add something like
"Message was send in turn x" to the message.
Maybe you just have to modify the header:
from
 From: The Robotic Imperium (xxx)
to
From: The Robotic Imperium (xxx) send in turn x

Thanks in advance.

The thread title is correct, in this game, Diplomacy IS a war front, as was revealed in one of my games where someone assumed something without getting it in writing first.

However, since messages aren't saved by default, I wonder if that player thought they did get an agreement that wasn't made?

At least with ambassadors, I can save the copy of the message that was emailed to me.  But I still don't have copies of what I send out.  There needs to be a way, other then the time machine, to save messages, incoming AND outgoing, so we all know what was said and when.
