We have just completed a tune-up and cleaning on the leaderboard. There were a number of small bugs which were causing some leaderboard scores to be misreported and we felt after 3 months that there were a few changes needed to make it easier to understand and aim for. A couple of the changes are significant.
For those of you who want the full details they have been updated in the documentation:
LeaderboardThere were several significant changes made to the way calculations are made:
- Achievement from destruction is now 1 Achievement/100 tons sunk instead of 1/1000. (a big change to promote more war)
- Destruction now includes capturing ships including Privateer and Crystal tow capture.
- Destruction now includes ground combat and Imperial assault (1 ton for each defense post on the planet).
- The complicated calculations about getting rating from other players you have defeated has been removed.
- Historical Achievement (other than destruction achievement) is only awarded at the end of game. Public opinion is still calculated for running games.
- Historical Achievement is vested in 50 turns instead of 100. So the players Rebirth 3 which just ended in 81 turns get the full achievement instead of 81/100.
- Planetary Win Games now have different multipliers. 5X Planets for solitary victor, 4X for the top winner in an alliance and 3X for the other winners in an alliance.
- Difficulty rating is not factored in to the achievement any more. The assumption is the better the opponents you defeat are the higher your destruction achievement will be.
- More experience points will be awarded each turn played. It will be turn # + # of planets + # of ships + # of starbases
- The amount of experience and achievement required for different levels has been slightly modified.
Everyone's rating has been adjusted (everyone just got a small or large increase) and the leaderboard is now very accurate again.
You are in control of your rating. If you want it to go up go out and make war!
