PlanetsCon LIVE 2019 Wrap-Up

For those who might have missed PlanetsCon LIVE this past weekend, here is a summary of what was announced in the State of the Nuniverse Address from the development team, as well links to other info and presentations from the event.

But before that we would like to give a big thanks to Griffin for organizing and producing the PlanetsCon this year. Really great work!

Trivia Prizes Awarded - Congratulations to the following players for besting the competition in the PlanetsCon LIVE trivia contest and earning some free premium time:

  • Top X Advance win condition - games end when only a certain number of players still alive
  • Team Fight or Fail - for fixed team games, the entire team is treated as a unit for Fight or Fail purposes
  • New Echo Cluster Map - map link reworked to show strength of various races at different difficulty levels
  • One Turn Manual option for autotax - lets you 'opt out' of your autotax setting for a turn without having to disable it
  • Improved Super Refit - UI improvements to better reflect expected upgrades and allow easier component building
  • Shock Troops Campaign Feature- Increases ground attack strength to 5. Costs 10 Advantage points.

  • Fortress Campaign Feature - Increases ground defense strength to 5. Costs 10 Advantage points.

  • Webmine cost increased slightly from 160 to 165 Advantage points.
  • Pyrite Class Frigate - Wmerkel's emperor ship, subtype of Onyx with powerful remote heating capability
  • Achievement Reward changes - with the goal of encouraging players to fight on even when they may not win, now based on finishing rank instead of planets owned, killed players receive points
  • Planetary Production Queue (PlanetQ or PPQ) - new experimental queue system extends standard Production Queue system, awards builds based on planets owned, allows you to specify which builds happen first
  • Bleeding Edge games - new game type includes experimental features we are considering including in standard
