Most of these commanders have repeated that accomplishment many times and all of them have consistently risen to the top in their battles. Now they must face the ultimate challenge. To beat the best of the best. Which one of these commanders will win ultimate glory for their race and for themselves? Which one will become Emperor of the Echo Cluster? Only the coming Nu Years will decide. Representing your race and its future place in history is not without risk. All 10 losing commanders will be stripped of their rank and all their achievements and will have to start again as lowly midshipmen for their race. The winner will be elevated to the title Emperor and will be remembered for all time as a hero among their people. In addition to glory in the Echo Cluster, the following prizes will be awarded by the overseers of the Nuniverse:

Interesting to note how many of the top players on the leaderboard did NOT accept this challenge. challengespaceyard - Friday, September 30, 2011 9:12 PM Four (4) premium players that were above the participant(s) declined the invitation. Non-premium players do not count, as they are not eligible to join the championship matches anyway. admiral_thrain - Saturday, October 01, 2011 6:33 AM I was a non-premium player when I got my invite... challengespaceyard - Saturday, October 01, 2011 6:46 AM If that is the case, then make that five (5) players that declined the invitation. admiral_thrain - Saturday, October 01, 2011 3:21 PM Except I didn't decline. Non-premium players also got the invites. I had to upgrade because Romulan Star Empire didn't want to sponsor me... Lack of trust or something I suppose. :)
