In this part of the series Joshua plays turns 9 and 10 - continuing to set the stage for sustainable carrier production starting on turn 11.

In this demo video Joshua shows how to use the new version with a focus on experienced players switching from the old version to the new.

In this shorter video (6 minutes) Joshua plays turn 8 and talks about the importance of choosing early starbase planets based on their location rather than their resources or natives. He also explains the planning process to get the resources together to build that first carrier on turn 11 while continuing to produce useful ships.

Part 2 in our demo series has now been released. In this portion Joshua is playing through turns 6 and 7 in detail as he sets the stage for producing his first heavy carrier at turn 11.

Joshua is doing a multi-part series on how to easily build a massive war fleet before the ship limit on any map. This is a great demo series for all players, from beginners to experts.

For the past several months we have been working on an upgrade to the Planets user interface. We will be rolling this out to Planets.nu within the next few weeks.

Planets Nu is introducing a new Award system which will also be directly tied to achievements and the leader board. The system features 40 new awards which can be earned during your games. These awards are fun targets which can be achieved as games progress. They will give your officer a new badge on your profile page as well as some achievement and campaign rewards. Awards will contribute to promotions and will help guide both new and experienced players toward better play.

Since late last year the Planets team has been working on a secret project to bring Planets Nu to your phones and tablets. We are excited to announce that we're ready to release the first Alpha version of Planets Nu for Android!

Today is a very exciting day for Planets Nu. Today we are very proud to announce that our very own community member Big Beefer, who has been an active userscript developer for the past few years has joined the Planets Nu team in a full time capacity.

We are happy to announce the second of the Planets-conventions for the last weekend of august (friday 29th until sunday 31st) in the city of Leiden in the Netherlands. Your organizing committee will be Robijntje and Dazdya.

The How to Play section on Planets Nu is now getting an upgrade. In order to maintain relevant and up to date documentation for the game that can continue to grow and expand we have created a simple tool to allow interested community members to edit the documentation section.

A few months ago we enlisted some volunteers to begin translating Planets Nu. We had some volunteers immediately step up but we were not quite ready for them. Now we are. To help make the task go smoother we have created a simple tool for managing the translations.

To kick off the holiday season Planets Nu is excited to announce two new game formats: Stealth and Sphere.

One of the most interesting things about Planets is the diversity the Echo Cluster offers to players in terms of game formats. To help solve this problem Planets Nu is happy to announce a new "Interest" concept to the game creation process.

The Official 2015 Planets Nu Trailer is an eventful ride! Provoking music, snappy map shots, zippy VCRs and more are brought together to create an authentic and impressive take on our great game!

A new game format has been released which is designed to make learning to play Planets fun and interesting for both the learners and the teacher. It is called Mentor vs Midshipmen.

Emperor Emork unveiled the details of his new ship at the Planets Conference. The new ship is now available to commanders of the Lizard Alliance in Campaign mode. He held nothing back in building a behemoth of a ship!

During the keynote State of the Nuniverse address at PlanetsCon 2014 a significant new feature was released addressing the age old discussion of the Ship Limit and Priority Build Control. The new feature is called the "Production Queue".
